Biography

Raphaèle Bernard-Bacot (RBB) lives and works in France.

She has placed dancers at the heart of her work as an artist, according to themes either inspired by human body or by nature ; 16 Figures which  includes her artist’s book, Figures dansées (Dance Figures) and Témoin Danse (Dance Witness), a collection of drawings of some of the greatest contemporary choreographers like Carolyn Carlson and Angelin Preljokaj.

After years spent in regular contact with dancers, Raphaele Bernard-Bacot (RBB) has found new inspiration in the vegetable garden and has now created a set of drawings called Fruits dansés (Fruit Dances), whose line and composition tell the story of the years spent capturing the rhythm of a moving body. In 2017, she had her sketchbook published by Glenat : The Royal Vegetable Garden of Versailles, seasons drawing (Le Potager du Roi de Versailles, dessins de saisons).

Now it is the rhythm of the seasons which accompanies her ripening work as an artist.

Her drawings can be seen in the Gallery La Boucherie ( France ), Gallery d’Hauterives ( Belgium). She is represented by Vivart ( Australia ).

Her book 16 Figures is on sale in the Library Blomet ( Paris ).
